Election Central

Top that, Tina Fey!

Turns out the Saturday Night Live series on the Twit Who Would Be Veep has inspired another insightful impersonation. Hustler Video is fast-tracking the release of Nailin’ Paylin, starring “Lisa Ann” as a busty version of the pitbull with lipstick.

Celeb site TMZ reports that scenes are inspired by Sexy Sarah’s special take on current affairs. In one vignette she will be “nailing” the naughty Russians who come knocking at her back door. (Maybe they’ll DP the would-be VP?) It’s not all foreign affairs, though. In a flashback, she recalls how a creationist college prof introduced her to a Big Bang theory she just couldn’t deny.

The obligatory three-way will be performed with Hillary and Condoleezza clones.

While the artistes at Hustler hope to release this landmark film before the election, those who simply can’t wait for the movie can read the script Riding Pipeline at Radar Online.

Kudos to Hustler. For once it's not the voters taking it in the tender spots.

    I'm no fan of Palin

    But this is pretty low.

Why not leave the knuckle dragging to the neo-cons; it comes naturally to them?

This kind of thing just legitimates cranks like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh

    Shame.

    Democratic Trust

    About The Hook

As British Columbia and other jurisdictions consider allowing online voting, can it be made secure enough that people will trust it? Will it encourage more people to vote? But if something goes wrong, will it further erode people's confidence in their democracies? And what role is the media likely to play in shaping the debate?

These are among the issues to be considered at a May 26 discussion that Fair Voting BC and PartyX are hosting at The Hive in Vancouver. I'll be on the panel, along with UBC Law's Fathima Cader and SFU computer scientist Steve Wolfman. The results and recommendations are to inform the two organizations' public positions on online voting.

Meanwhile join me and other contributors on The Hook as we bring you the latest from B.C. and across Canada.
