Fraud and breach of trust charges have been laid against a British Columbia doctor and two former government employees.
A total of 16 counts were sworn and filed in Victoria court today against doctor Jonathan Burns, former assistant deputy minister of health Ronald Danderfer and fromer Fraser Health Authority manager James Taylor.
Burns directed a company called WebMed Technology Inc. which made a product called Pixalere, “a computerized system to assist home care nurses in assessing wounds.” A previously released warrant alleged Danderfer and Taylor were offered or received benefits from Burns while doing government business with him.
The first scheduled court appearance will be April 7 in Victoria.

WebMed Technology Inc.
So I guess that is one company that Gordo Campbell or Colin Hansen will not be a director of now!

Business
Gee, sounds like the way business operates under the BC Liberals. The BC Rail case demonstrates that.

E Health, BC Rail, the 2009 Budget, the HST.
As a BC Liberal supporter, it looks like the s--it is finally starting to pile up, and Campbell will begin to look for a quick exit strategy.
The only thing that the BC Liberals have going for them, is that the NDP is still hated by most voters, and that the left is badly divided in BC between the NDP and the Greens.
So far, the greatest asset that the Campbell Liberals have is Dr. David Suzuki and his foundation.
As a BC Liberal supporter, I sincerely wish the NDP would develop a spine (and stronger leader) that would make it a more serious contender for government; The strength of a government is largely dependent upon the strength of the main opposition party. That in and of itself is better for BC democracy.

The NDP hated?
That's not what I'm hearing around the coffee circuit. It's not hate anymore and if Carole left and the NDP found a new leader Campbell would run with his tail between his legs. THe next poll should show the trend.

The BC Liberals
Ayla, I wanted to write to offer some feedback on your comments. First I wanted to say that you have got guts to admit you support the BC Liberals, next you are totally on the mark with regards to the NDP. I am a NDP supporter and probably always will be. The BC Liberals are nothing akin to the Liberal Party Of Canada. I agree the Carole J has got to go if the NDP ever want to regain power. I think the major issue for most people is the HST and how people are feeling betrayed etc. That is the stinger. In tough times most people from all walks of life are looking for a little compassion and Gord and his gang just don't offer any. They appear arrorgant, elitist and full of self worth. Which is for me a complete non-liberal agenda. I think that the LIberals are actually a collective of Socreds, Conservatives and other right wing parties. So that answers most questions about social policy in BC. To be fair I liked our previous finance minister because she dared to challenge this line of thinking hence her departure. She I think would make a good overall preimere for this province. (Her riding was smack in the middle of the Canada Line construction remember?). Anyways perhaps it's time to rethink our objectives and what we want as a society.

Carole Taylor also appears to be waiting in the wings to take over from Gordo, once the knives set in.
http://alexgtsakumis.com/2009/12/12/breaking-news-the-return-of-carole-taylor/
And Surrey mayor Dianne Watts also topped the heap as "Best Premier" in an Angus Reid Strategies poll.

Just like people's negative viewpoints of the Olympics before the actual event... Just like people's negative viewpoints of the Socreds before Vander Zalm took over the helm in 1986... and Just like people's negative viewpoints of the NDP before Glen Clark took over the reigns in 1996...
After all of these dynamic events/changes, a phenomenal sea-change in public opinion took place.
The question is... will Carole James still be sitting there with a "spooked deer caught in the headlights glare" after the fact?!

Nope Carole will have to answer ...
...for giving the Banks a royal tax break before accepting a highly paid job with one of them. She won't be trusted any more than Campbell. Besides she is over the hill. The only one who thinks Diane Watts is a good choice is Polakite and Luke. She is little known anywhere except in the lower mainland. The liberal talent pool is empty. They could not run a peanut stand. Period.

Looks like he's back - this time as .Luke.
One more time editors - this guy, after his offensive and personal attack on Rod Smelser, has no place in this forum. Letting him simply change his name and file a new email address is inappropriate.
Changing names a dozen times doesn't alter what he's done or make up for his actions.
Unless Rod Smelser is invited back and the poster behind these caricatures apologizes there's no way this person belongs here at Tyee.

Don't count on seeing Carole Taylor back in elected office. She doesn't need the money or the abuse.
Too bad - she would have been a shoe-in for Premier but for the wrong timing. No way Campbell would leave before the Olympics and that would put Taylor in a third term before getting a serious shot.
Lieutenant Governor is a definite possibilty when Stephen Point's term is up.
